The Transfiguration of Our Lord

The Fourth Luminous Mystery: The Transfiguration of Our Lord

(Diary 1699)

When the procession began, I saw Jesus in a brightness greater than the light of the sun. Jesus looked at me with love and said Heart of My Heart, be filled with joy. At that moment my spirit was drowned in Him... When I came to myself, I was walking along in the procession with the sisters, while my soul was totally immersed in Him...

The Proclamation of the Kingdom

The Third Luminous Mystery: The Proclamation of the Kingdom

(Diary 1548)

The Lord gave me to know, during meditation, that as long as my heart beats in my breast, I must always strive to spread the Kingdom of God on earth. I am to fight for the glory of my Creator. I know that I will give God the glory He expects of me if I try faithfully to cooperate with God's grace.

The Self-Manifestation of Christ's Divinity

The Second Luminous Mystery: The Self-Manifestation of Christ's Divinity at the Wedding Feast of Cana

(Diary 1245 & 1261)

My Jesus, delight of my heart, when my soul is filled with Your divinity, I accept sweetness and bitterness with the same equanimity. One and the other will pass away. All that I keep in my soul is the love of God. For this I strive, all else is secondary.
I saw the Lord Jesus, like a king in great majesty, looking down upon our earth with great severity; but because of His Mother's intercession He prolonged the time of His mercy.

3 1/2 Time-Outs Tuesday

1. I know I've been MIA. Just life and trying to focus on prayer life lately...and see #3.

2. Speaking of that, check out my twitter, where I tweet from Liturgy of the Hours. https://twitter.com/_thehellwithit

3. Last week was spent cleaning my dad's house...cleaning and throwing out lots of stuff. Very tiring.

3.5. Related to #2, now I have a bunch of Bible-thumping followers, because the Liturgy of the Hours is from the Psalms, Old Testament, and readings from the New Testament letters. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on them, just wondering if they bothered to read my pretty Catholic "about me": Why am I Catholic? The Incarnation, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. Why do I go to Mass? Because if the Eucharist is just a symbol, the hell with it. Who thinks they will convert who? Just hope I can show that Catholics love the Bible too.

The Baptism of Our Lord

The First Luminous Mystery: The Baptism of Our Lord

(Diary 916)

In a private room next to mine there was a Jewish woman who was seriously ill. I had an understanding with her nurse, a religious sister, that when her last moment would be approaching, she would baptize her. There was this difficulty however, that there were always some Jewish people with her. The moment came when the sick woman began to lose consciousness. Some went to fetch the doctor while others went off in other directions to find help. Sister baptized her before they all rushed back and her soul was beautifully adorned with God's grace. Her final agony began immediately, but it did not last long. It was as if she fell asleep. All of a sudden, I saw her soul ascending to heaven in wondrous beauty. Oh, how beautiful is a soul with sanctifying grace!

The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Fifth Glorious Mystery: The Crowning of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth

(Diary 805): The Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God

From early morning, I felt the nearness of the Blessed Mother. During Holy Mass, I saw Her, so lovely and so beautiful that I have no words to express even a small part of this beauty. She was all [in] white, with a blue sash around Her waist. Her cloak was also blue, and there was a crown on Her head. Marvelous light streamed forth from Her whole figure. I am the Queen of heaven and earth, but especially the Mother of you [Congregation]. She pressed me to Her heart and said, I feel constant compassion for you. I felt the force of Her Immaculate Heart which was communicated to my soul. Now I understand why I have been preparing for this feast for two months and have been looking forward to it with such yearning. From today onwards, I am going to strive for the greatest purity of soul, that the rays of God's grace may be reflected in all their brilliance. I long to be a crystal in order to find favor in His eyes.

The Assumption of Our Blessed Mother

The Fourth Glorious Mystery: The Assumption of Our Blessed Mother

(Diary 1711)

When I was left alone with the Blessed Virgin, She instructed me concerning the interior life. She said, "The soul's true greatness is in loving God and in humbling oneself in His presence, completely forgetting oneself and believing oneself to be nothing; because the Lord is great, but He is well-pleased only with the humble; He always opposes the proud.

The Descent of the Holy Spirit

The Third Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit

(Diary 1781)

I got up much earlier than usual and went to the chapel, steeping myself in the love of God. Before receiving Holy Communion, I silently renewed my religious vows. After Holy Communion, the infinite love of God swept over me. My soul was in communion with the Holy Spirit, who is the same Lord as the Father and the Son. His breath filled my soul with such delight that it would be useless for me to try to give even a faint idea of what my heart experienced. Throughout the whole day, wherever I was and regardless of with whom I talked, a vivid presence of God accompanied me; my soul was drowned in thanksgiving for such great graces.

The Ascension of Our Lord

The Second Glorious Mystery: The Ascension of Our Lord

(Diary 1710: May 26 [1938 - Feast of the Ascension])

Today I accompanied the Lord Jesus as He ascended into heaven. It was about noon. I was overcome by a great longing for God. It is a strange thing, the more I felt God's presence, the more ardently I desired Him. Then I saw myself in the midst of a huge crowd of disciples and apostles, together with the Mother of God. Jesus was telling them to... Go out into the whole world and teach in My name. He stretched out His hands and blessed them and disappeared in a cloud. I saw the longing of Our Lady. Her soul yearned for Jesus with the whole force of Her love. But She was so peaceful and so united to the will of God that there was not a stir in Her heart but for what God wanted.

3 1/2 Time-Outs Tuesday

1. I love music, but after reading this article from Cracked (bad words, just a headsup), I'm a little creeped out about my brain listening to music.

2. "When Thomas saw and touched, why was he told: You have believed because you have seen me? Because what he saw and what he believed were different things. God cannot be seen by mortal man. Thomas saw a human being, whom he acknowledged to be God, and said: My Lord and my God. Seeing, he believed; looking at one who was true man, he cried out that this was God, the God he could not see." (Pope St. Gregory the Great)

3.5. I'll be honest, I'm a little depressed about the 4th of July tomorrow. Our country is in turmoil, and I have an event to go to that I'd rather not go. Anyway, it'll work out, just apprehensive.

Go check out more at Acts of the Apostasy!

The Resurrection of Our Lord

The First Glorious Mystery

(Diary 205)

Today during the [Mass of the] Resurrection, I saw the Lord Jesus in the midst of a great light. He approached me and said, Peace be to you, My children, and He lifted up His hand and gave His blessing. The wounds in His hands, feet and side were indelible and shining. When He looked at me with such kindness and love, my whole soul drowned itself in Him. And He said to me, You have taken a great part in My Passion; therefore I now give you a great share in My joy and glory. The whole time of the Resurrection [Mass] seemed like only a minute to me. A wondrous recollection filled my soul and lasted throughout the whole festal season. The kindness of Jesus is so great that I cannot express it.

July: The Precious Blood

Like the Sacred Wounds of Jesus, His Precious Blood deserves special honor because of its close relation to the Sacred Passion. That honor was given to it from the beginning by the Apostles who praised its redeeming power. (Romans 5:9 "we are justified by His blood"; Hebrews 13:12 "and so Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people by His blood, suffered outside the gate"; 1 John 1:7 "and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.")
In recent times the devotion has been encouraged by Blessed Caspar Buffalo, founder of the Congregation of the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. When Pope Pius IX was in exile from Rome in 1849, he had as his companion Don Giovanni Merlini, the third general of that Congregation. This saintly priest suggested to the pope that he make a vow to give the feast of the Precious Blood to the entire church, if he should regain the papal territory. Without binding himself by the vow, the pope immediately extended the feast to the whole Church. It is celebrated now on July 1.

Offering in Reparation to the Precious Blood
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the merits of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Thy beloved Son, my Savior and my God, for the spread and exaltation of my dear Mother, Thy holy Church, for the preservation and welfare of her visible Head, the sovereign Roman Pontiff, for the cardinals, bishops and pastors of souls, and for all the ministers of the sanctuary.
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed and praised for evermore be Jesus, who hath saved us with His Blood!

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the merits of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Thy beloved Son, my Savior and my God, for peace and concord among Catholic kings and princes, for the humbling of the enemies of our holy faith and for the welfare of all Thy Christian people.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed and praised for evermore be Jesus, who hath saved us with His Blood!

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the merits of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Thy beloved Son, my Savior and my God, for the conversion of unbelievers, the rooting-up of all heresies and the conversion of sinners.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed and praised for evermore be Jesus, who hath saved us with His Blood!

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the merits of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Thy beloved Son, my Savior and my God, for all my relations, friends and enemies, for those in need, in sickness and in tribulation, and for all those for whom Thou knowest that I am bound to pray, and willest that I should pray.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed and praised for evermore be Jesus, who hath saved us with His Blood!

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the merits of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Thy beloved Son, my Savior and my God, for all those who are to pass this day to the other life, that Thou wouldst deliver them from the pains of hell, and admit them with all speed to the possession of Thy glory.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed and praised for evermore be Jesus, who hath saved us with His Blood!

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the merits of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Thy beloved Son, my Savior and my God, for all men who are lovers of this great treasure and who are united with me in adoring and glorifying It and who labor to spread this devotion.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed and praised for evermore be Jesus, who hath saved us with His Blood!

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the merits of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Thy beloved Son, my Savior and my God, for all my needs, both temporal and spiritual, as an intercession for the holy souls in purgatory, and in an especial manner for those who were most devoted to this price of our redemption, and to the sorrows and sufferings of our dear Mother, Mary most holy.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed and praised for evermore be Jesus, who hath saved us with His Blood!
