Energy saving light bulbs contain cancer causing chemicals.
Effects, so far, include:
-higher breast cancer rates
-disruption of production of melatonin
-migraines
-exacerbation of skin problems
Awesome. I hate these things. My husband likes them, but I love the old-fashioned light bulbs. I hate how bright the energy saving ones are.

ReplyDeleteThey're phasing out incandescent bulbs here. My husband stocked up, because one of the lights has a dimmer switch, and you can't use the compact fluorescent bulbs with those.
ReplyDeleteIn a way, I'm reminded of how we, as a society, often think of people in the past - that they aren't as enlightened or as smart as we are today. We do so at our own peril.
